Michael D. Bartolotta

Michael D. Bartolotta is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts degree at the Visual Studies Workshop with a tentative graduation date of April, 2010. He holds a degree in English from the University of Pittsburgh and focuses his studies on film and historical photographic processes while at VSW. He has worked professionally in the Rochester area as an Art Director/Graphic Designer for the past eight years.

Nalina Chellam

Nalina Chellam is a graduate student at VSW. In addition to her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology, English, European and American literature from India, she has an AAS degree in Graphic Design and Printing from Monroe Community College, Rochester NY, and COBOL and FORTRAN computer programming from RIT, Rochester, NY. She is interested in artist’s books, photography, web site design, graphic design, drawing, painting and sculpture.

Philippe Gouvernet

Philippe Gouvernet is a graduate student at the Visual Studies Workshop with an anticipated MFA completion in 2011. He received his BA in French with an Art History minor from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. He is currently focusing on photography with an interest in historic processes.

Romy Hosford

Romy Hosford is a first year graduate student at the Visual Studies Workshop, her MFA to be completed in 2010. She graduated from Syracuse University with an MS in art education, concentration in fiber arts, and a BFA in art education, concentration in ceramics. She is the Afterimage Editorial Assistant for books and works in photography and photo-based sculpture and installation.

Fumiko Koizumi

Fumiko Koizumi is a first year student at VSW. She graduated in 2007 with a BFA degree from the Department of Fine Arts at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Tokyo Japan, with a major in oil painting. Her current interest is in painting-like photographs and she is still working on with her background of painting.

Michael Leonard

Michael Leonard is a student at the Visual Studies Workshop slated to complete his MFA in the fall of 2009. Michael received his BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Photographic Illustration in 2002 with concentrations in literature, metal sculpting and philosophy. Artistically his focuses have been photography, artist books and historic photographic processes. He is currently an instructor at the VSW and the Community Darkroom.

Jaimee S. Lindvay

Jaimee S. Lindvay is a graduate candidate at the Visual Studies Workshop and is expected to graduate in December 2010. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Applied Media Arts with a concentration in photography at the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2000. She is currently working as an Adobe Photoshop Instructor at the Community Darkroom in Rochester, NY. Her current art interests are Artist Books and Digital Arts. www.jslindvay.com

Sara McKenna

Sara McKenna is a second year graduate student at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY. She holds a Bachelor’s in Art Education from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She is currently studying historical photographic processes.

Joshua Morris

Joshua Morris is an MFA student at Visual Studies Workshop. Morris attended SUNY Oneonta for his undergraduate degree in Music Industry. He is a photographer, music producer, and motion media artist.

Kelly M. Watson

Kelly M. Watson is a first year master’s candidate at the Visual Studies Workshop with an anticipated graduation of 2011. She received her bachelor’s in fine arts from Rochester Institute of Technology and her master’s of science in art education from Massachusetts College of Art.

Robyn York

Robyn York is in her second year of the MFA program at Visual Studies Workshop and will complete her degree in late 2009. She received her BFA in Studio Art from the University of Ottawa in 2004. Robyn is the Layout Designer for Afterimage, The Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism, and has curated numerous independent photography exhibitions.
